We are located in the Gottschling Building on South Trimble Road, directly across the street from the entrance to Wedgewood Estates.
There is no direct access from South Trimble Road.
To get to our office, you must first turn east onto Meadow Lane, which is between the GetWell Center and Kidney Associates. It is a very short street that dead ends onto Bally Row.
Turn left (north) on Bally Row and we are the last building on your left.
Suite B is the first door on your right as you enter the building from the parking lot.

We are always accepting new patients, preferably by referral or transfer.
We try to see all new patients within one week.
Most new patients are seen on Thursdays.

In general you need to be referred or transferred by another health care provider.
We regularly accept referrals from physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, chiropractors, and physical therapists.
Patients must live within 30 miles of the office.
You must have a State of Ohio confirming your physical address.
You must provide proof of insurance or register as a self-pay patient.
We accept all major commercial insurances, all Medicare Advantage plans, all Ohio Medicaid plans, Ohio BWC, Tricare, VA Community Care, and most others.
We do not accept traditional Medicare or auto accident insurance.
We do offer affordable pre-paid self-pay options.
Usually office staff and/or Dr. Wolfe can get most any care approved, subject to any limitations imposed by your insurance plan.
In cases where the care is not covered for whatever reason, Dr. Wolfe offers you the choice of opting out of your insurance coverage and making special payment arrangements.

You will see Dr. Wolfe face to face every visit, regardless of the nature of your visit. We do not use physician extenders such as nurse practitioners or physician assistants.

Most phone calls are screened and summarized by office staff for Dr. Wolfe.
Not only does this provide a record of your contact and concerns, it also provides an efficient and timely way to get your concerns addressed as the office day progresses.
Most calls or emails are answered within 1-2 hours while the office is open, and within the next business day when received after hours.
If medication is medically necessary and appropriate, Dr. Wolfe will prescribe medication.
Please be aware that controlled substances like narcotics are rarely, if ever, prescribed on a first visit.
In cases where narcotics are medically necessary and appropriate, Dr. Wolfe will determine what medication is best under current guidelines for these medications.
If the patient is on any type of sedative, Dr. Wolfe will automatically defer any prescribing to the provider that is prescribing the sedatives.
If you are prescribed any controlled substances, you will definitely be subject to random drug testing. This is typically covered by your insurance.
The State of Ohio has specific diagnoses that qualify for medical marijuana.
If you have adequate documentation of one of these diagnoses, and there are no other legal or medical barriers, you may be eligible for medical marijuana.
Medical marijuana visits are not covered by any insurance plan.
Procedures are performed in the medical office.
Minor procedures such as joint injections and botox are typically performed in an exam room.
More involved procedures such as spine injections are performed under fluoroscopy in a specialized procedure room.
Procedures performed in a private medical office are safe, just as effective, more convenient, and substantially less expensive than procedures performed in hospitals or ambulatory surgery centers.
Office Staff and/or Dr. Wolfe will complete and submit any paperwork that is required by your medical insurance at no cost.
If a handicap placard is medically appropriate, these are also ordered at no cost.
Paperwork for non-medical entities such as disability, FMLA, attorney requests, and others are sometimes charged a nominal fee based on the number of pages.
First, don't stress. We understand things happen and we will work with you.
If you need to reschedule, call the office at 419.709.8270 as soon as possible. In many cases, we can still accommodate you the same day or week.
If you need to cancel, call the office at 419.709.8270 as soon as possible. We accept cancellations until 4 pm on the day of your appointment. So even if you forgot or something came up, just call the office to let us know.
If you are an existing patient and you miss an appointment and do not let us know by the end of the day of the appointment, we have a $25 missed appointment fee which must be paid before the next visit.
If you are a new patient and you miss a new patient appointment and do let us know by the end of the appointment day, we have a $50 missed new patient appointment fee that must be paid before you can be rescheduled.

Dr. Wolfe was born and raised in northern Richland County. He grew up on a farm on the edge of the small village of Olivesburg. His parents still live on the family farm.
He is married and has four adult children and three grandchildren.
He attended Crestview Local Schools and in his college years, he worked locally at Columbia Gas Transmission and Empire-Detroit Steel.
He spent most of his early career living in Ashland. While there, he served for many years on the Ashland City Board of Education.
Later in his career, he lived on a large crop farm straddling the Black Fork near Pavonia.
More recently, he moved into a home near his office in Mansfield where he lives with his wife Michelle.
Dr. Wolfe is a graduate of the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia.
He attended medical school at the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.
After graduation, he spent time abroad working as a cardiology consultant with Professor Dr. John Barlow, at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa.
He did a complete residency in internal medicine through the University of Stony Brook in New York and was subsequently board certified in internal medicine.
He did a second residency in anesthesiology with a sub-fellowship in pain medicine at Ohio State University. He was subsequently board certified in anesthesiology and pain medicine.
During his anesthesiology training at Ohio State, Dr. Wolfe worked nights as an ICU doctor at the former Mansfield General Hospital.
Upon completing his training, Dr. Wolfe became the chairman of anesthesiology at the former Samaritan Hospital.
At the same time, he opened the area's first pain clinic at Mansfield General Hospital.
While at Samaritan Hospital, Dr. Wolfe became board certified in Quality Assurance and Utilization Review and then served as the Director of Quality Assurance at Samaritan Hospital.
In 2000, Dr. Wolfe relinquished his anesthesiology duties and moved to Mansfield General Hospital full time as a pain medicine specialist.
In 2010, Dr. Wolfe transitioned to private practice, forming MidOhio PainCare. He still maintains active privileges at OhioHealth Mansfield.
To date, in his career, Dr. Wolfe has provided care to over 30,000 patients.
